On February 14th at 7pm, Texas-based musicians Zella Day and Jesse Woods, of Chaparelle, continue our conversation series A Reading Life, bringing their harmonious union to First Light for a special evening of stories and songs.
This will be a ticketed event with limited seating, with free standing room attendance available inside and in our courtyard. Reserved seat tickets are available on a first come, first serve basis, which include a drink token and a $20 gift card to be used towards one of the books from Zella and Jesse's conversation.
Accomplished songwriters on their own, Chaparelle is their new highly-anticipated collaboration, a harmonious union that nods to Country's golden age. Their sound is part Tammy and George, part Eve Babitz in a honky tonk.
A Reading Life is a conversation series about the books that shape us. All readers know the impact that one book from childhood had on us, or the novel that caught you at the exact right time in early adulthood. A Reading Life invites two people who know each other well -- authors, artists, musicians, architects -- and gives them a series of questions about their lives in books and beyond.
