Queertowne Live! with KB Brookins & SG Huerta

Join us on Thursday, October 17th at 7pm for a conversation with two trans writers from Texas, KB Brookins and SG Huerta, hosted by Queertowne.

This event is free to all, with drinks and snacks available for purchase at First Light Books.

Queertowne is a comedy project uniting Austin's LGBTQIA+ community through a live variety show and podcast since 2017. Hosted by Mase Kerwick and Javier Ungo, Queertowne is Austin's longest running queer comedy show.

Please note that this event will take place outside.

about the authors

KB Brookins is a Black American author, poet, creative nonfiction writer, and visual artist. Brookins is a 2023 Creative Writing fellow with the National Endowment for the Arts and the author of three books: How To Identify Yourself with a Wound, Freedom House, and Pretty: A Memoir.

SG Huerta is a Chicane poet from Dallas. They are pursuing their MFA at Texas State University and currently live in Texas with their partner and two cats. SG is the author of the chapbook The Things We Bring with Us: Travel Poems (Headmistress Press, 2021).
