First Light welcomes Vaughn Vreeland, video journalist and YouTube personality, to talk all things cookies.
The event will begin with an author reception from 6:30–7 p.m., followed by a conversation and signing. Tickets include a copy of the book and a reserved seat. Unreserved seats are available on a first come, first served basis. Free RSVPs are also encouraged.

Vaughn Vreeland is a writer, recipe developer, video series host, and producer for NYT Cooking, as well as the co-creator of Cookie Week. A voracious baker and home cook hailing from North Carolina, Vaughn can be seen making his latest creations on the NYT Cooking YouTube channel, Instagram, and TikTok. He will be joined in conversation by Alex Reichek, a PR and marketing specialist in Austin for restaurants, bakeries, chefs, and lifestyle brands. She works with clients to build strategic brand promotion through securing prestigious articles and press, creating partnerships through introductions to other like-minded brands in the community, and executing creative ideas for events and campaigns to drive awareness. For her popular Chekmark Eats brand, Alex explores the city, sharing where to eat and what to do in Austin. She translates what makes each place special to her 31K+ Instagram followers and in her bi-monthly Substack. When she’s off duty, you can usually find her swimming at Barton Springs, diving into the newest chocolate chip cookie, or catching a show at C-Boys.
